Paris-Londres Duo-Musical à Sarlat

In the middle of the crowds, musicians play on the streets. People stop & listen, look, sometimes dream a bit, sometimes soften a bit, sometimes love a bit, sometimes give a bit, sometimes maybe buy a CD, then the people move on.

This year, a wonderful duo called Paris – Londres played. Guitar & electric violin with a backing tape. Bruno & Sophie. Wonderful muscians, wonderful people. Go read their biographies, go listen to their music on their web-site. Very nice vibes.

‘To write a love-song, you have to be in love.’ – Henry HENSCHE, Cape Cod School of Art

Called Paris – Londres because he was born in Paris & she was born in London. M-L & I could be called ‘Bergerac – Winchester’ because we are another anglo-french couple.

I didn’t get time to do Bruno justice, which is a shame as he has a good, solid posture when playing & a soulful look whilst singing. But I did have a go at drawing Sophie whilst she played, despite the heat. I hope she doesn’t mind me saying that not only does she make very beautiful folksy-tonally pure melodies & lilts (why do I see them as sort of circular in my mind’s eye?) on the streets which can tough & tiring (the pavements are no music hall) but she’s also the mother of two young children. Amazing what some women do 🙂
