At Lanquais, cuisine is another art about which we are passionate. We
know that this is important for your art vacation and that it gives inspiration.
Banqueting by candlelight under the wall hangings and frescoes is magically
convivial & people soon get to know each other.

" David and I both want to say how much we enjoyed
our relaxing week and the setting and we are feeling withdrawal symptoms
this week from the food and wine- we are still dreaming of chocolate cake
( well I am - David is probably dreaming of all those cheeses!!) Many
thanks to you and your family and madame for making us so welcome at Lanquais.
" Nina Evans, UK, Lanquais Alumina.

There are three special meals in the chateau, which lead you through
the specialities of the Périgord region, accompanied by a little
degustation of Bergerac wines. The other meals during the week are a light
lunch at 1 pm & in the evening, a good french auberge-type menu. These
are self-service, either on the lawn or in the refectory.

This is a rare opportunity to stay in an atmospheric & historical
setting. Lanquais has been owned by the same family for generations. It
is not a smart five star hotel nor an expensive 'Relais de Chateau' ;
the chateau is not totally restored.. The accommodation consists of charming
apartments with ensuite bathrooms. Furnished with antiques & period
paintings, some have four poster beds. Spacious & private, you can
retire & be tranquil after a day's painting, whilst enjoying the pleasure
of an authentic Renaissance setting.

For single bookings, there is the huge 'L'Appartment'
which is the size of a small house. It has three charming bedrooms , antiques,
paintings and a shared bathroom & loo in its corridor. Because it
is so spacious, you will be private & comfortable.

" I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the week at Lanquais. The people
within the workshop, our wonderful teacher, yourself, and the ambient surroundings
of the chateau will remain in my memory always. In fact, whenever it is
possible for me, I'd like to take the workshop again." K.Coates, USA,
